Privacy is our priority. Thinking Lens was born from our own needs, and as active users ourselves, we understand how privacy is important to every user. Your data is stored encrypted and processed anonymized by default. And we’re committed to operating under strict policies designed to protect your data and your privacy.
Because we are in an early stage, this Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. You will always find the most current version here. While details may change, our commitment to protecting your privacy will not.

Thinking Lens, Inc. (“Thinking Lens,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a self-empowering approach to mental wellbeing through our mobile application and website (the “Service”). The Service helps users (“Users,” “you,” or “your”) reflect, reframe thoughts, and regain clarity and strength for constructive next steps. Over time, it aims to help enhance user’s cognitive flexibility and psychological resilience, contributing to long-term mental strength.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, safeguard, and disclose information arising from your use of the Service. Our goal is to give you clear and open communication so you can make informed decisions about your data. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please discontinue use of the Service.

We collect two types of information: Personal Information (information that identifies you) and Non-Personal Information (information that does not, directly or indirectly, identify you).

- Entry Data. When a user submits content through the Service (“Entry Data”), we may collect that information. Entry Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
We may collect the following types of Non-Personal Information:
- Service Usage Data. We may collect data regarding the ways in which our Users use the Service, such as web pages on our site visited, amount of time spent on the app, hyperlinks on which a User clicks, number of sessions, and the start and end time of such sessions. We collect these types of Non-Personal Information automatically as our Users use the Service.
- Geolocation Data. We may collect geolocation data which generally identifies the area (but not the specific location) of the device used to access the Service. We collect this type of Non-Personal Information automatically as our Users use the Service.
- Device Type. We may collect information about the type of device that is used to access the Service. We collect this type of Non-Personal Information automatically as our Users use the Service.
2. Use of Information
We use the information we collect for several purposes aimed at providing and improving our services. Here's a more detailed breakdown:
- Providing Our Services. The information we collect is integral to providing our services. This includes using a User’s account information to allow that User access to Thinking Lens and using the User’s preferences to customize their experience.
- Maintaining Our Services. We use the information to ensure our services run smoothly. This includes using technical information about the User’s devices and their interactions with our services to resolve issues, ensure compatibility, and keep our services up and running.
- Improving Our Services. We use aggregated and anonymized data to identify trends, track user behavior, and understand how our users interact with Thinking Lens. This allows us to identify areas for improvement, develop new features, and optimize the user experience.
- Offering Support to Users. We use the information to communicate with you, including responding to feedback and support requests.
3. Third-Party Services
We work with third-party service providers and disclose Personal Information and Non-Personal Information to those providers so that they may assist us with certain activities, as described in this Privacy Policy.
We do not control such third-party service providers, but we carefully evaluate the information privacy and security practices of those providers prior to engaging them and select only those providers that we reasonably determine are able to adequately protect Personal Information and Non-Personal Information.
We use various third-party services to help us provide, improve, and protect our services, including:
- Azure. We use Azure as our data storage provider, a widely trusted data storage provider operated by Microsoft. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how users use Thinking Lens, improve our app, and fix bugs.
- OpenAI. We utilize OpenAI services to enhance the user experience for advanced computational tasks, including but not limited to artificial intelligence operations and language processing. We ensure that any data sent to OpenAI’s server is limited to the information required for these services. And any data processed through third-party AI services is encrypted and anonymized, containing only the content of your entry without any personally identifying information.
Please note that these third-party service providers have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.
4. Non-Disclosure of Entry Data
Thinking Lens is committed to safeguard your entry data. It is against our policy to share, sell, or distribute your Entry Data and we will never disclose your Entry Data unless absolutely required by law.
5. Data Security
We implement information security measures designed to maintain the security and integrity of the information (Personal Information and Non-Personal Information) that we collect and maintain. Examples of security measures that we use include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Data Encryption. We use strong encryption protocols to protect the data sent between your device and our services, including when interacting with third-party services. This includes the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which ensures that your data remains private and integral. Additionally, we use Microsoft Azure for data storage, which automatically encrypts all data in transit and at rest, providing an added layer of security for your data.
- Access Control. We implement robust access control measures at the managerial level. Only authorized members of our staff can request access to sensitive user data solely for the purpose of resolving technical issues.
- Training. Our team is trained and updated on the latest security practices and data protection measures. This ensures that everyone who works on Thinking Lens understands the importance of data security and knows how to handle user information responsibly.
We regularly assess the effectiveness of our data security measures and may modify such measures, as appropriate, to adequately protect information that we collect and maintain. Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children Policy
Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected Personal Information from a child under 16, please contact us at support@thinkinglens.app, and we will promptly delete it.
7. Direct Communication
If you opt to receive direct communications from us, we may use your name and contact information to send such communications to you. Direct communications may include, without limitation, updates about our products and services and other material that may be of interest to you. When we send direct marketing communications to you via email, we will include an unsubscribe link in the email which allows you to opt out of receiving further direct marketing emails from us. You may also choose to receive direct communications through push notifications within our application. You may, at any time, discontinue these notifications by changing the application settings to disable such notifications.
8. Retention of Data
We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
9. Your Rights Regarding Personal Information
You have the right to:

- Request correction or deletion of your personal data.

10. GDPR Rights (EU/EEA Residents)
If you reside in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent.

We may request identity verification before fulfilling requests. Some data may be necessary to provide the Service.
11. CCPA Rights (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the right to:

- Request deletion of your information, and
- Opt out of sale of your data (we do not sell personal data).
